uforia is priceless to me.
Three years and a few thousand dollars later, it is still invaluable. Even now, in this pandemic. It is an “essential” part of my sanity. I choose to support uforia.
First, let’s get honest. Am I being paid to write about them? Nope. Know that when I partner, collaborate, or promote anything, it always comes from my heart, my own experience, and my own choice to share or recommend.
It is in my countless hours of research, years of obsessive dance and fitness training, tried and true belief, and ultimate choice to do what I do. Not for monetary gain or any personal gain for that matter. My attitude? Fact: I naturally rebel against the slightest feeling of force. It’s like an allergy attack. I prefer the road to authenticity and honesty.
Like everyone, COVID-19 has affected our lives. The day uforia announced its last class in the studio, I booked the class as if I’d never see it again. With most businesses forced to close down or drastically adjust how they operate, the prediction of the economy and gut-wrenching feeling of perhaps never stepping into the studio again, was absolutely real.
Impressed by the agility and thankful for technology, it is amazing to see the determination and success of so many out there fearlessly flying through this turbulent time. It is strength. Hope.
I don’t look forward to the day when things start to become normal. No. I look forward to the “ah” moment when things become better than normal ever was.
Yesterday, I was saddened to read an email that uforia faced a tough decision to furlough all of its concierge staff and downsize its HQ. While not surprising, it still crushes my heart.
For those who know me and maybe even for those whom I’ve never had the chance to speak to (yet), likely have seen my face at uforia’s dance fitness classes. You’d catch me in all locations – Nob Hill, Palo Alto, and Mission. Sometimes you’d catch me in all three locations on that very same day! Nuts? (Yep, don’t ask me how. I’d say it’s passion and you’d say I’m insane.)
Reminiscing about all the uforian moments, I thought about doing what I do best – writing. It’s important to express my gratitude to uforia (probably more so now) and share how it has benefited my life. But instead of writing, I decided it is much more powerful to share their impact through photos and videos. Be sure to check out my “TY uforia” (“Thank You uforia”) story highlight on my Instagram for some of my favorites and plenty of clips. Can you spot when you and I connected at uforia?

All I can say is that uforia inspires me to dance, contributes to my active and healthy lifestyle, connect with incredible people from all walks of life, and most importantly, supports my sweat and dance obsession. It is my sanity, my therapy, for this wild and popn’ dancing soul.
uforia, you are incredible. I respect your business, team, and community. You bring invaluable positives and richness to many people. Stay positive, continue flexing strong, and keep it movin’!
Real talk, is it time to dance, yet? I miss you. We all miss you. #IRL soon. Until then, uforia. #virtualbaby
