The first time I heard about Day Breaker SF was from my fellow dance bud, Lilian – an incredible soul, a beautiful woman with the warmest heart.
It’s funny how things begin to unfold when you trust your gut and follow your passion. The best part of this journey, so far, has no doubt been the people I have met along the way. Sharing the same energy, positivity, outlook on life, exchange in laughter, and for some, a simple lend in ear to just listen about how the power of dance helped them through some of their toughest points in their life.
I researched Day Breaker and what their mission stands for. I love interacting with many people, but I am selective with collaboration. To me, it’s important that the person or organization that I, popn’ dance cherries, associates with are people who share similar passion and values – appreciation, acceptance, and encouragement of others to be truly themselves and love them as they are. To push yourself out of your comfort zone and be proud of your effort, even during times of failure. To love life, even when the light at the end of the tunnel seems far too dim.
Day Breaker’s CORE VALUES spoke to my soul – Wellness. Camaraderie. Self-expression. Mindfulness. Mischief. (Let’s be real… popn’ dance cherries is all about pushing limits and it certainly caught my eye when I saw “mischief”.) All jokes aside, the combination of their core values is EVERYTHING my brand stands for. So, I was anxious to find a way to somehow partner with them. A few back and forth with each other later and suddenly… it happened.
Trust me, amazing things can happen when you follow your heart and go for it, even when you are unsure of the outcome. #faith – popn’ dance cherries
The moment my best and I stepped into the Day Breaker SF event, we were immediately greeted with warm hellos and positive vibes. I’ll let the pictures and videos speak for themselves, but two things worth mentioning that may not be apparently clear were that the event displayed true acceptance of others and living purely and freely in the moment. All I gotta say… it was fuckin’ beautiful!
Kids dancing with their parents, men and women werkin’ it in sparkles and fur, and all just LIVING THEIR BEST LIFE. I am honored to have been invited to this event.
BIG thank you to Mustaf and Day Breaker SF for showing me an incredible time. Your love and energy were felt all throughout the event. Can’t wait for the next one in February.
NOTE TO THE POPN’ DANCE CHERRIES COMMUNITY: This year, every month, Day Breaker will be holding a yoga and dance event throughout San Francisco. Each time will have a special theme. But the mission remains the same – global unity. Next month in February, will be held at the stunning Grace Cathedral at dusk. Theme – One Love. ❤
